In 1990, the Wes Westrum Baseball Museum was completed in the American Legion building. The museum is a tribute to Wes' more than 50 years in baseball as a player, coach, manager and scout, retiring in 1992.

The museum has over 100 feet of glass display cases of photos, memorabilia, and newspaper articles that capture those glory days of baseball, including a 10' x 14' wall mural depicting Willie Mays' "Greatest Catch" made during the 1954 Giant and Cleveland World Series.

The Wes Westrum Baseball Museum is located on the main street of Clearbrook in the American Legion Building.

The museum dates are from June 1st to Labor Day. While there is no full time attendant, the museum is accessible at any time by calling 218-776-3933, or 776-3639, or through the American Legion Club Room, after 4 PM. The museum is open on Saturday afternoons during the summer months.

The museum will be open daily during the Clearbrook Summerfest days, June 24 thru June 27, 2004.

Born and raised in a small northwestern Minnesota town of Clearbrook, Wes Westrum emerged as one of Minnesota's first successful major league baseball players. A catcher for the NY Giants during what many term as the "Golden Era" of baseball (the 1950's) when the NY Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers and the NY Yankees were perennially involved in baseball's pennant and world series races.

Wes was a premier defensive catcher during the 1950's. A key player in Leo Durocher's NY Giant pennant winning team of 1951 and World Championship team of 1954. During the 1950 season, Wes set a major league record of only one error in 680 fielding chances. Wes played against New York's best; Roy Campenalla with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Yogi Berra of the New York Yankees. Wes was a National League All-Star in 1952 and 1953.
